Not a private house — a necessary pause. Hotel Bel-Air opened in 1946 in a eucalyptus canyon and has been the Westside’s hideout ever since: Marilyn, Grace Kelly, the accidental sighting over lunch. If you want a restroom, a coffee, or a look at the swans without knocking on a resident’s gate, this is the stop. The valet will assume you are a guest. Be brief, or actually go in.
